Hello, I'm Brenton, a college student and long-time sports fan from Tampa, Florida, where I was born and have always called home. I have been a fan of the Tampa Bay Rays since they started out as the Devil Rays in 1998, and an Atlanta Braves fan since years before that, when they won the 1995 World Series. With my dad being a rabid Braves fan, I had to become one too. When it's not baseball season, I'm a devoted follower of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who I'll watch everytime they're on TV, regardless of opponent or station. I watch some Arena Football as well, my favorite team being the five-time World Champion Tampa Bay Storm. If you've never been to an AFL game, try it, it's a great experience. In college sports, my favorite team would have to be the University of South Florida Bulls. Their football program's meteoric rise has me hooked on them. I used to be more of a Florida State fan, but now I wouldn't exactly call myself a loyal devotee to that program. I also more casually follow the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Orlando Magic. My least favorite teams are...well, all of their division rivals. But I think I can safely name the New York Yankees, New York Mets and Carolina Panthers as the top three.

My favorite players would make quite a long, interesting list. My favorite current baseball players are Carl Crawford, James Shields, Carlos Pena, Scott Kazmir, John Smoltz, Chipper Jones, Mark Teixeira, Brian McCann, Tom Glavine, Albert Pujols, Gary Sheffield, Placido Polanco, Felix Hernandez, Greg Maddux, and Vladimir Guerrero. Historically, I would name Fred McGriff, Wade Boggs, Hank Aaron, Terry Pendleton, Otis Nixon, Mark Lemke, Tony Gwynn, Cal Ripken, Jr., George Brett, Bobby Bonds (a statistician's dream), Ted Williams, Babe Ruth, Rickey Henderson, Eric Davis, and (in two sports) Bo Jackson. In football, my favorite active players are Jeff Garcia, Earnest Graham, Joey Galloway, Derrick Brooks, Ronde Barber, Peyton Manning, LaDainian Tomlinson, Antonio Gates, Matt Jones, Maurice Jones-Drew, Adrian Peterson, Vince Young, and Wes Welker. From the past, I'll list Steve Young, Joe Montana, Barry Sanders, Jerry Rice, Darrell Green, and Mike Alstott. Deion Sanders and Brian Jordan were also good two-sport athletes (and former Braves) that I've been a fan of.

I'm always watching ESPN when I'm at home in front of a cable TV. I like most of the afternoon lineup (but can someone put a muzzle on Jay Mariotti?) and their coverage of every major event, although sometimes I find it a little biased. I also have a habit of DVR recording every Best Damn Sports Show Period Top 50 Special and watching them repeatedly. I watch the Rays and Braves at every opportunity, and every NFL game I can get. I just need the NFL Network now.

I have a small card collection (mostly baseball) that grows periodically. It's mostly rookie and minor league cards of my favorite and/or the best players. If I find a great bargain on eBay, I take it. My most prized cards would have to be my 1994 Japan Series box set (featuring Hideki Matsui), my Gem Mint 10 Rod Carew 1983 card, and four Barry Bonds rookie cards (though I'm unsure what their worth might end up being, it depends on his future), and my dad has Barry Sanders and Joe Montana rookie cards. I wouldn't mind hunting some of these athletes down and getting them signed if possible, that would certainly make it worth my time and money.  Maybe there are still some people out there who will give these autographs.
